A DAY TO PLAY!!!  Join us for an all day workshop with AQS bestseller Linda Hahn.  And just what we’ve been wanting, a day to explore how merely changing a color or rotating a patch a quarter turn can change the dynamics of the block.  We will learn how to divide a block into sections and calculate the size of the pieces using simple Quilter’s Math.  She will share some quilts that can be made using one or a combination of the block from the sampler that create awesome secondary pattern.  There are tons of possibilities and it is perfect for advanced beginners through the most advanced quilter.

We will be cutting the needed pieces in class as we go through the design process. 1 1/2 yard background (I used Light Blue—this will be the “constant” in each block) PRECUT approximately (96) 2 1/2” squares and and (20) 4 1/2" squares from the background— bring the rest to class. 12 different - 5" strips of fabric to use in the blocks, — make sure that you get a nice variety of shades and prints—you will be mixing and matching the fabrics within the blocks. I used variations of these colors in my sample. Green Light Teal Magenta Medium Blue Purple Dark Pink Dark Blue 1 1/2 yards of Dark Purple for Sashing (make sure it is dark against the block colors ) 1 1/2 yards of a Border fabric—this could be a print or solid 1/2 yard of your choice for Binding **IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO BRING SASHING , BINDING OR BORDER FABRIC TO CLASS**
