Welcome to the Amelia Island Quilt Guild.

This Guild was established in November, 1989, with thirty members. Our current membership consists of 100+ members. The goal of the guild is to promote quilting and educate the public about the craft of quilting.

Membership is open to the public and available upon receipt of annual membership dues of thirty dollars. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month, unless otherwise announced. Meetings consist of a program, business meeting and Show and Tell

Officers are elected by the membership to serve one-year terms.

Members are asked to make and wear name tags to facilitate getting to know other members.

Members can earn pins to wear on their name badges by bringing finished quilts to show and tell. See the link below to learn how to earn a pin. AIQ Guild pins are also available for sale.

The Guild supports the following charities with the gift of a quilt made by guild members:

Quilts of Valor

Habitat for Humanity

Ryan's Case for Smiles

Community Hospice

Micah's Place

UF Health Neo-natal Unit

The guild presents Quilts by the Sea, a triennial quilt show, as a major fundraiser through a raffle quilt, boutique sales, admission fees, and quilt sales. The next Quilts by the Sea show will be February 21-22, 2020.  The show is open to the public for an admission fee. Quilts made by the members are publicly displayed and judged. As a member, you are required to sell or purchase a certain number of quilt raffle tickets to support Quilts by the Sea.

An annual quilt retreat is held at Epworth-by-the-Sea on St. Simons Island. Members pay a fee, which includes meals and a semi-private or private room for three days. The format for the weekend usually includes a project taught by knowledgeable quilters or the opportunity to work on your own projects without having to cook meals or make up your bed.
