Welcome to the Amelia Island Quilt Guild!
Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at the Woman's Club, 201 Jean LaFitte Avenue in Fernandina Beach, Florida unless otherwise announced. Members begin to arrive at 6:30 and socialize until the meeting begins at 7:00. Meetings consist of a business meeting, guild show and tell, and a program. The guild also sponsors workshops by nationally known quilters and a triennial quilt show called Quilts by the Sea. The next quilt show will be in February 2020.
The next guild meeting is on January 9, 2018 during which local artist Lauren Templeton will present Colors for Your Creativity.
January Message from the President
Happy New Year!! Hope you enjoyed your holidays and had some time to quilt as well!
This is the last full month before our event in February, "The Evolution of Quilting." It is now time to invite everyone you know to attend!
We are sending a story to the paper and we will be out and about with the Raffle Quilt to help generate awareness and interest. I know this is a departure from the way we organize and run the triennial quilt show ~ this is because it is a totally different type of event. Like the show, it is another way to give to the community by sharing the art and craft of quilting but with a beautiful lunch and a professional speaker -- all in addition to quilts to sell, an auction quilt and boutique, truly an event you can be proud to share with others. And, like the show, it is a fundraising event for the guild. Please, share the details of the event with your friends, neighbors, fellow members of other organizations and your co-workers. Details are on the website. You can take payment and get their tickets back to them. The tickets are only $40 each. If you have any questions about the event don't hesitate to call or email me! I am looking forward to sharing a great 2018 guild year with you!!
