September 11, 2018 Gather 6:30 pm Meeting begins 7:00 pm
GETTING TO KNOW YOU AND US
“Getting to Know You and Us” is our theme: come celebrate 30 years of AIQ, who we are, our many projects and our yearly plans! Of course, you must see our ‘Show and Tell”. Members and guests will be treated with refreshments furnished by Board members. The night’s discussion will be “Getting to Know You and Us” which will include a round-robin presentation by our many committees and projects. Members are encouraged to participate in our “Show and Tell”, featuring completed quilts, fiber arts and charity quilts. Both members and guests can complete registration for next year’s membership and begin registration for future workshops.
September Message from the President
Dear Quilting Friends,
Yippee, it’s meeting time again!!!!! How can 2 months seem so looooong and so short??? I am eagerly anticipating seeing you on the 11th.
I really love the program Lauree has organized for this meeting. A chance to reconnect and see all the activities and opportunities available to you through the Guild. Thank you, Lauree!!
Remember the Deadline to join the Guild for the 2018-2019 year to be included in the print directory is September 15th. To print Registration Form (pg 4) go to File, Print, select Pg 4 or download form at www.aiquilters.com. Even if you are an over 80 / under 18 member and don’t pay dues you must complete a new form. This is part of our Non-Profit requirements. Thanks so much!!
There are only 17 months until our 15th Triennial Quilts By The SeaÔ Show, February 21 and 22, 2020. All but one Committee has a chair committed to serve and we are having our first full organizational meeting on the 8th. The Raffle Quilt is completed and ready to go, thanks, Dell! So excited about this Show!!
As we conclude our 30th Anniversary Celebration with the 2020 Show we would LOVE to display as many Best in Show Quilts from past Shows as possible. We will be able to hang 4-6, depending on size on the stage and others in the Lobby. If you own one of these quilts please let Cyndee or I know. Going forward the Show will have its own News Bulletin so the Newsletters are kept to a reasonable length.
Happy Stitching…until the 11th,
Rozlyn Warren, President
Amelia Island Quilt Guild
