  Amelia Island Quilters!

 

 

Welcome to the Amelia Island Quilt Guild.  This Guild was established in 1988 with thirty members.  Our current membership consists of 90+ members.  The goal of the Guild is to promote quilting and educate the public about the craft of quilting.

 

Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at the Womens Club, 201 Jean LaFitte Ave Fernandina Beach, unless otherwise announced. Members begin to arrive at 6:30 and socialize until the meeting begins at 7:00.  Meetings consist of a program, business meeting and Show and Tell.

Representatives from Paula’s Fine Fabrics will share a hands-on demonstration of machine appliqué, machine quilting, and embroidery with the latest in technology.  These experts attend “Bernina University” every year and will encourage you to get the most out of your sewing machine no matter what brand you use.

DEC Program          Make an Amish quilt...

Vicki Zoller spoke to us at the December meeting.  Vicki’s interest in Amish quilts began in 1982.  Since that time she has been inspired to create 20 quilts in the Amish style.  She shared her enthusiasm for Amish quilting and demonstrated with her own quilts how her interpretation has changed over time.
